Oats and barley contain a special type of fiber called beta-glucan that helps lower cholesterol levels.
Yield: 4 servings
Stir 2 cups oats into 4 or more cups of briskly boiling water (vary amont for thick or thinner consistency). Cook 1 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand a few minutes.
This recipe is for “quick-cooking” oats; other types may require more water and longer cooking times.
