Pizza!
One of AVS' Vegan Cuisine Month pilot projects was encouraging pizza parlors to celebrate how well they can create a vegan pizza.
Devour the results around Philadelphia and South Jersey by patronizing the participating restaurants:


Mario's in Ocean City NJ has been so enthusiastic about the vegan pizza flying out of there rapidly during the entire summer of 2016
that they are now doing a printed vegan menu available for all customers!

Pizza: Daiya vegan cheese on homemade pizza sauce and crust.
Toppings extra: mushrooms, onions, black olives, diced tomato, diced garlic, green peppers, spinach, broccoli
Or order one of their specialty pizzas!

Vegan Hot Sandwich: Order “Grilled Veggie Sub with vegan mozzarella”: mushrooms, peppers, onions on Italian bread or the “Grilled Super Veggie Sub with vegan mozzarella” adds tomato and broccoli. Note: made on a shared grill.

Mario’s Minestrone Soup is all vegan all the time! Comes as a bowl of soup.
Salad (romaine, iceberg, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, olives) can be ordered with a vegan dressing (olive oil & vinegar, balsamic vinaigrette, or simply ask for a lemon wedge).

Mario’s Pasta: vegan varieties are spaghetti, linguini, fettuccini, penne, or rigatoni
Vegan Sauces: homemade tomato, mushroom, aglio & oglio (garlic & olive oil), fradiavolo (hot marinara)
Pasta dinner served with a cup of Minestrone Soup or a side of Tossed Salad (romaine, iceberg, tomato).

They have been adding more options!
Newly added: Baked Penne or Rigatoni with Tomato Sauce topped with vegan cheese.
At first you had to be sure to say your order is vegan so they don’t garnish anything with Romano cheese, but they are getting more used to vegans by now!

Pizza: Daiya vegan cheese, homemade tomato sauce, on crusts of whole wheat, white, thin, or gluten-free.
Toppings extra: mushrooms, onions, black olives, pineapple, tomatoes,

Pizza: Ask for the California Vegan Pizza which does not appear on menu yet.
Daiya vegan cheese on Homemade vegan crust.
(Eric's old recipe used eggs, but he dropped them completely as a result of AVS' #VeganCuisineMonth pilot project.)
Vegan sauce is just garlic oil.
Currently the red sauce has dairy cheese, but he will make vegan red sauce if there is enough interest.
Veggies on California are: broccoli, mushroom, black olive, tomato, onion, and green bell pepper.
Substitutions available are: grilled zucchini, eggplant, spinach.
Eric's pizza oven can not accommodate a large group, but his pizza is definitely worth stopping by in small groups any day.
Open 7 days a week 8am-8pm.

Design your favorite combinations anytime with grilled veggies, sliced tomato, pita, olives, stuffed grape leaves, etc.

For ten or more people with two days notice:
Eric's signature Eggplant Moussaka veganized (above right photo), Bean Salad, Lentil Soup, and Apple Pie.

Sea Isle location has had vegan pizza for years.
Now beginning November 30 2016, Uncle Oogie's offers 10" vegan pizza at both Phila locations.
Regular or whole wheat crust.
Lots of vegan mock meats such as chicken seitan and vegan bacon, tons of veggies to pick from. Daiya cheese.
Also vegan: cheesesteak, stromboli, boli buns, wings, and more!
